An article in the Deccan Herald (Bangalore, India) notes that current law "prohibits employment of women and young persons during night but in 2002, the State government made a conditional exemption for IT and ITES firms." Under these exemptions, employers are strictly held to 15 criteria, violation of which can result in withdrawal of the exemption.
